Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Inpatient Pediatric Operating Room team for 60% FTE. You will work 2 - 12 hour shifts, 7:00pm - 7:30am with holiday on call and in-house responsibilities, at American Family Children's Hospital.

You will deliver perioperative nursing care to young patients and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care throughout procedures.

Qualifications

  • 6 months of relevant clinical experience required.
  • Clinical operating room experience preferred.
  • Registration as a professional nurse in Wisconsin upon hire required.
  • CPR certification upon hire required.
  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, techs and Child Life specialists.
  • Serve as pediatric circulating nurse in multiple OR suites and hybrid OR.

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Inpatient Pediatric Operating Room team. In this specialized role, you will provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical procedures. You’ll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, techs, and Child Life specialists to ensure safe, patient‑centered care throughout the surgical experience.

  • Serve as a pediatric circulating nurse which includes 6 OR suites, 2 procedural suites, and 1 hybrid OR.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe operating room environment, ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control standards.
  • Advocate for pediatric patients and their families, offering emotional support, education, and clear communication.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 6 months of relevant clinical experience Required
