Job summary

UW Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for pediatric general medical/surgical care at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. The role features 75% FTE with 8/12 hour Day/Evening shifts, plus weekend and holiday rotation.

Differential pay applies for evenings and nights, and a weekend differential is offered for applicable hours. The unit cares for children from infancy to adolescence with various complex medical and surgical problems.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Wisconsin or compact state is required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Six months nursing experience on inpatient units or completion of UW Health Nurse Residency program required

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric patients from infancy through adolescence on a new 9-bed unit.
• Provide nursing care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Job description

You will work at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is eligible for shift and weekend differentials depending on hours worked.

Pay:

Additional components of compensation may include:

Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked.
Weekend Differential: $4.25/hour as applicable for hours worked.

• Join our NEWEST unit at the American Family Children's Hospital!
• Nurses on this 9-bed unit will care for children from infancy through adolescence.
• Care for patients who have a wide variety of complex medical and surgical problems, including: General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Orthopedics, other surgical specialties and medical observation (OBS)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• Inpatient Units: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
• Relevant RN Experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Required
• Relevant Certification Preferred
