Job summary

UW Health's American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a multidisciplinary team to coordinate holistic care plans for pediatric patients, including those dependent on technology such as home ventilators and dialysis.

This 90% FTE role includes evening/night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation, plus competitive benefits and professional growth opportunities in a Magnet-designated pediatric center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Six months inpatient nursing experience required or current participant in UW Health Nurse Residency Program.
• Active RN license in WI or compact state at hire.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification at hire; PALS within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate holistic care plans with a multidisciplinary team for pediatric patients.
• Care for children dependent on technology (ventilators, dialysis, tracheostomies).
• Manage care for patients with nephrology issues, new diabetes diagnoses, epilepsy, scoliosis.

90% FTE, three - 12 hour evening/night shifts per week including every other weekend and a holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.You will work at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay:

Additional components of compensation may include:

• Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked.
• Weekend Differential: $4.25/hour as applicable for hours worked.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate a holistic plan of care for the patient and family.
• Care for children dependent on technology such as home ventilators and home dialysis as well as children dependent on tracheostomies.
• You will also care for patients with acute and chronic nephrology diseases, new diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, epilepsy and idiopathic/non-idiopathic scoliosis.

Work Experience

• Inpatient Units:Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
• Relevant RN experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
• PALS within 12 months Required
• Relevant certification Preferred
