Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the PACU at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. The role involves coordinating total nursing care, patient and family teaching, and working with the care team across units.

Requirements include MA RN licensure (if applicable), BLS, and 2+ years PACU/ICU exposure; ACLS/PALS/TNCC preferred, with vaccines for influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Three (3) months experience is preferred.
• Previous PACU or ICU experience preferred - minimum of 2 years.
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement by signing a statement.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit.
• Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

We are searching for a talented Certified Medical Assistant

$3,000 New Hire Sign On with 2+ years of RN [INSERT SPECIALTY] experience. Rehires Termed greater than 1 year are eligible

Hours: 24hrs

Shift:Day/Evening shift with on-call rotation (weeknights, weekends and holiday) 7:30am - 4:00pm; variable start time

Location: PACU - St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.
