Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA is seeking a talented Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg/Tele unit at St. Luke's Hospital. This full-time role requires coordinating patient care and providing education to patients and families.

The ideal candidate holds MA RN licensure, BLS, and demonstrates teamwork and commitment to high-quality care; the position includes comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Three (3) months experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients and participate in patient/family teaching.
• Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel.
• Maintain standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit and age-appropriate care.

Hours: 36hrs

Shift:Day/Evening shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 7:00am - 7:30pm

Location: Med Surg/Tele - St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
