Job summary

A charitable health system is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for in-house travel assignments in New Bedford, MA. This position offers competitive pay at $70/hr and benefits such as health insurance and a 403B plan. The RN will coordinate nursing care in the PACU and must have a Massachusetts RN license, BLS certification, and at least one year of PACU experience. Responsibilities include patient care coordination and leadership within a nursing team. Potential for floating to other hospitals during assignments.

• 11-13 Week Assignment, with option to extend for 1 additional 13 week assignment if available
• $70/hr

Position Assignment Details

• Hours: 40hrs
• Shifts: Day Shift with on-call rotation. (4-10hrs or 5-8hrs)
• Area Assignment: PACU - St. Luke\'s Hospital, New Bedford MA

*During assignment, maybe asked to float to any Southcoast Hospital: Charlton Memorial - Fall River, St. Luke\'s - New Bedford and Tobey - Wareham

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services, or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

Qualifications

• Current Southcoast Health System employees are not eligible for consideration. Former employees must be separated from Southcoast for at least 9 months to be eligible.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Minimum of one year of PACU nursing experience required.
• Competent in reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips.
• Ability to efficiently float to other like-units for patient assignments is required.
• Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
• Epic experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
