Job summary

The MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Orthopedic Rehab / Inpatient Rehabilitation on a night shift. The RN will provide safe patient care, educate patients and families, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to support recovery after orthopedic procedures and spine surgeries.

Responsibilities include developing and evaluating care plans, administering medications, updating EMR, and promoting discharge readiness.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Active South Carolina RN License or Compact State RN License.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• 2–3 years of recent RN experience in Orthopedic, Rehabilitation, Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Acute Care settings preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Care for orthopedic, spine, and rehabilitation patients requiring ongoing nursing support.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding recovery goals, mobility, discharge planning, and disease management.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and rehabilitation staff to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation.
• Promote patient safety and quality care initiatives.
