Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Orangeburg Inpatient Rehab Unit seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care and coordinate care planning with a multidisciplinary team. The unit requires the ability to tolerate 3 hours of therapy daily,5-6 days a week, and operates on 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, care planning, discharge coordination, and mentoring staff. Must have SC RN license and BLS certification; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Documents initial nursing histories, assesses patients’ conditions and develops care plans.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Evaluates outcomes and revises care processes to optimize patient care.
• Coordinates discharge planning and hand-offs.
• Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic services.
• Maintains confidentiality and safety standards.
• Mentors new staff and provides first-line customer service.
