Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Successful completion of annual mandatory education requirements.
• ACE Gen Med and Medical Surgical: Successful completion of Telemetry Cardiac Rhythm Course.
• NIH Stroke Scale training required within 3 months of hire or orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate care specific to the age and population of the customer/patient, ensuring understanding and comfort with treatment.
• Performs an initial and ongoing assessment to determine nursing care needs and plan discharge.
• Develops and revises the care plan to address patient needs in collaboration with physicians and teams.
• Administers medications safely and follows nursing protocols.
• Evaluates patient care and communicates changes during shift handoffs with SBAR.
• Performs technical skills competently and safely with equipment and supplies.
• Maintains professional behavior and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Identifies and reports risks to patients and staff as required.
