Mass General Brigham is hiring an OR Nurse Flow Manager to oversee perioperative patient flow and case movement on weekends. You will partner with nursing leadership, anesthesia, surgeons, and hospital administration to ensure efficient use of OR resources and smooth patient transitions.

Ideal candidates bring BSN with OR charge nurse experience and proficiency in Epic, with a focus on leadership, collaboration, and cost-conscious staffing in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree required.
• Previous Operating Room Charge Nurse experience required.
• Master’s Degree in related healthcare, Operations, engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care and operational flow activities; strong leadership, communication and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in a fast-paced OR environment.
• Commitment to fair, equitable, and customer-focused leadership.
• Calm, decisive, and effective under pressure.
• Proficient in Epic and other healthcare technology systems.

Responsabilités

• Lead perioperative patient flow by coordinating movement from Pre-Op/ED/inpatient units to OR and then to PACU or appropriate unit.
• Partner with nursing leadership, anesthesia, surgeons, and admin to optimize OR resource use.
• Keep OR schedule moving; anticipate delays and minimize disruptions and overtime.
• Optimize staffing and skill mix to meet surgical volume and case needs.
• Balance patient needs, staffing, priorities, and operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with Pre-Op, PACU, ICU and other departments to create seamless perioperative flow.
• Monitor and communicate OR performance; track delays and trends for improvement.
• Support scheduling accuracy by coordinating with IS to maintain OR scheduling.
