Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in perioperative care for a 13-week assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. The RN will work day shifts, 12-hour shifts, and be on-call for the Surgery Unit on a regular rotation.

Requires an active RN license with BLS, ACLS, and PALS. No experience required, though prior RN circulator experience is preferred. On-call duties and a strong focus on patient advocacy are required.

Description:The Registered Nurse specializing in perioperative nursing practice during the intraoperative surgical experience.Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.Acts as the patient advocate and is responsible for the direction and supervision of any personnel assigned.Will be on call for the Surgery Unit on a regular scheduled rotation.Accepts responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of an activity.Makes evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria.Works independently.Implements the plan of care by protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources.Performs accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items.Performs interventions necessary to ensure that the patient's procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level.Manages the patient's specimens according to organizational policy and procedures.Communicates the patient's status to relevant parties throughout the continuum of care.Administers medications safely and correctly.Performs interventions to maintain the patient's wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels.Performs interventions to maintain the status of the patient's genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels.Performs interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection.Protects the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy.Provides age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.Documents nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly.Collaborates effectively with other disciplines as applicable.Uses problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.Maintains required competencies.Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional organization.Acts as a patient advocate and maintains privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.Supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.Participates in required education as applicable to position.Performs other related duties as assigned.Recognizes the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality.Conveys empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, grief, or trauma.Relates to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation.Communicates effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background.Incorporates service excellence in customer relations in daily activities.
