Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU to provide specialized perioperative care in Sitka, Alaska. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across the perioperative spectrum, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to ensure safety and quality.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in Nursing, current RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with a track record of clinical competency and teamwork in fast-paced surgical

Description:The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care across the lifespan in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and evidence-based practice.The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services.The RN collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes, safety, and positive patient experience.A circulator nurse coordinates perioperative workflow outside the sterile field by preparing the patient, verifying documentation, ensuring equipment readiness, completing safety checklists, and facilitating communication among the surgical team.They serve as the patient’s advocate while maintaining situational awareness, anticipating needs, supporting sterile staff, and documenting key intraoperative events to keep the surgical environment safe and efficient.Circulator nurses are required to participate in on-call coverage to support urgent and emergent surgical cases.The role requires performing comprehensive patient assessments and developing individualized plans of care.Implementing and evaluating nursing interventions and patient responses is essential.The RN administers medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy.Recognizing changes in patient condition and initiating appropriate interventions or escalation of care is vital.The RN provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.Delivers culturally responsive, patient-centered care.Consistent application of nursing judgment and clinical decision-making is expected.The RN must develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized nursing plans of care based on patient needs, responses, preferences, and clinical circumstances.Integrating clinical findings with ethical principles, cultural considerations, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements when making nursing decisions is crucial.Accepting accountability for nursing decisions, delegated tasks, and outcomes of nursing care in accordance with statutes, regulations, and organizational policy is mandatory.The RN collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitates referrals and follow-up care.Documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record is required.This role includes promoting quality, safety, and compliance with nursing scope of practice and adherence to regulatory, safety, and infection prevention requirements.Participating in quality and performance improvement activities and maintaining required competencies and certifications is expected.The RN demonstrates professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.Support for the orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers is part of the role.Knowledge of nursing principles, evidence-based practice, medication safety, and infection prevention is necessary.Strong clinical judgment, organization, prioritization, and communication skills are essential.The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is required.Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling.Employees are responsible for complying with safe work practices, reporting injuries and unsafe conditions, and cooperating in safety investigations.
