*Responsibilities*

• Provides nursing care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing, and evaluating.
• Implements appropriate nursing care interventions.
• Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures.
• Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and nursing evidence-based practice.

*Essential Key Job Responsibilities*

• Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for patient care in the practice setting.
• Performs assessment and analyzes patient problems using critical decision making.
• Implements and modifies care plans using assessment data, standards of care, and evidence-based practice.
• Integrates ethical provisions in nursing practice, respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments per policies.
• Evaluates progress towards patient outcomes.
• Continuously observes and reassesses patient and family responses to interventions and condition changes.
• Documents assessments and interventions per hospital policy and standards.
• Uses resources appropriately and follows guidelines for documentation and equipment charging.
• Delegates tasks to support personnel based on patient needs and task complexity.
• Supports orientation, training, and development of new employees and nursing students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

*Qualifications*

Required Education and Experience

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school.

Required Licensure and Certifications

• Current RN license in Kentucky.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.

PREFERRED Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
