Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke is seeking a part-time RN Oncology to provide professional nursing care across all ages, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, documenting in EMR, and supporting education and improvement initiatives. Requires VA RN license, BLS-HCP, and strong problem-solving in dynamic care settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required based on area.
• Keyboarding and computer literacy; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Documents age-specific assessments to support care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents in EMR.
• Identifies education needs for patients and families.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory standards.

What We Require

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.

Experience: None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range: $33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
