UAB Medicine in Alabama’s largest health system is seeking an experienced RN to join the Oncology/Med-Surg team. This full-time role supports direct nursing care on a 48-hour week schedule, 7am–7pm, at UAB St Vincent's East, with opportunities across a broad range of care settings.

You will implement care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care, document physician and nurse orders, and coordinate discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and active professional licensure at time of hire.
• One year of RN experience required.

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and required professional licensure at time of hire.
• One year of RN Experience Required
