Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN position in the 3 Main, Med Surg department at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The role provides direct nursing care and coordinates patient care per established policies, procedures and protocols of the organization.

Responsibilities include implementing care plans, monitoring patient status, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring orders from physicians and nursing staff are carried out.

Qualifications

• BLS provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for coordinated patient care.

Job Description

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the
healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare
  team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One year of RN experience is required
