Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff seeks an RN specialized in Oncology for a 13-week assignment in Independence, MO. Shift runs 07:00–19:00 on a 12-hour pattern with a 1:6 patient ratio on a 36-bed unit.

Responsibilities include wound vac changes, catheter/drain management, IV/PICC care, and Meditech documentation. Floating to med-surg/telemetry and coordination with clinical care coordinators are required.

Qualifications

  • RN with Oncology specialty.
  • Minimum 1 year experience.
  • BLS certification required.
  • 13-week contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oncology nursing care on med-surg/telemetry units.
  • Perform wound vac changes, drain management, IV/PICC line care.
  • Manage drains, Foley, NG as needed and monitor cardiac status.
  • Document in Meditech and coordinate with care team.

Description:48 hours guaranteed preferred.

Unit information includes 36 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6.

Utilizes clinical care coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries.

Equipment used includes I-med, I-mobile, Neurons (vitals machine), glucometer, PCA, wound vac, chest tubes, and surgical drains.

Documentation system is Meditech.

Scheduling requirements involve working every other weekend.

Patient types include med-surg, oncology, hospice patients, and hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include wound vac changes, drain removal, IV/PICC line management, Foley insertion/removal, and NG insertion/removal.

Floating areas include med-surg and telemetry for med-surg level patients.

Dress code requires pewter (gray) for nurses and Caribbean blue for PCTs.

No call and weekends required every third weekend.
