Description:This role requires a registered nurse specialized in oncology.The nurse will work 4x12 hour shifts during the day, from 07:00 to 19:30.The position involves working every other weekend and on holidays as needed.Certifications required include BLS, NIHSS, and Chemo (ONS/ONCC).The nurse will be required to float to other medical-surgical units when necessary.The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with a total of 426 staffed beds.The patient-to-nurse ratio will be approximately 4-5 patients per nurse.The nurse will provide care for adults and geriatric patients.Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and monitoring patients for side effects.Candidates should have skills in managing ports, intravenous therapy, and patient education.The nurse should be familiar with handling cytotoxic spills and following safety precautions.Interdisciplinary support will be available from various teams including pharmacy and physical therapy.Candidates with previous charge experience will be preferred.
