Job description

This RN role is a leader in patient care, utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, and is accountable for quality patient outcomes. The RN demonstrates professionalism and supports the company's philosophy of nursing.

Education

Required: Registered Nurse Diploma. Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Work Experience

Required: None.

Certifications

Required: Current RN License in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Job Duties
  • Effectively uses the Nursing Process in patient care delivery.
  • Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
  • Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serves as a leader on the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
  • Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility, and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • Maintains compliance with the company’s Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct concerning patient/employee safety, privacy, or other compliance‑related concerns.
  • Other related duties as required.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Heavy work: Occasionally exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force, frequently 25 to 50 pounds, or constantly 10 to 20 pounds to move objects. Duties involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications. The incumbent works in patient care areas and may encounter hazardous waste in the environment.
