Job Summary
- Utilize the Nursing Process for patient care.
- Assess and teach patient, family, and interdisciplinary team as appropriate.
- Delegate and manage nursing team resources and serve as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
- Use data to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
- Promote customer satisfaction, employee morale, and professional nursing improvement.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education
- Required: Registered Nurse Diploma
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Work Experience
Required: None
Certifications
- Required: Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and other software packages related to the role.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly to various levels of individuals.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
Physical and Environmental Demands
The position requires the ability to lift and/or move objects ranging from 10 to 100 pounds. Duties involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste. Routine duties are performed in a patient‑care environment where the risk of exposure to communicable diseases is present.
