Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit. You will educate patients and families, mentor staff, and develop individualized care plans while ensuring safety and quality care.

The role requires an accredited nursing program graduate, Maryland RN license, and BLS; ACLS is required within 6 months for this specialty. Night shifts with 36 hours per week and weekend rotations apply.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Must pass NCLEX.
• Maryland RN license is required.
• BLS certification from AHA is required.
• ACLS within 6 months for this specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Serve as a role model to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful patient and family rounds.
• Apply literature findings to practice and pursue clinical improvements.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Passing score on NCLEX

Maryland State nursing license

American Heart Association BLS certification

ACLS certification within 6 months
