Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit. This full-time role covers 36 hours weekly with day shifts from 7am to 7pm, rotates weekends every four weeks, and requires holidays as needed.

The Observation Unit cares for short-stay patients with conditions such as chest pain and arrhythmias. Candidates must hold Indiana RN license, BLS, and ACLS within 12 months of hire; path to excellence designation applies. EOE.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for healthcare provider.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider (obtained within 12 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with on-shift team to meet patient, family, and co-worker needs.

Education

Indiana RN license (or compact license)

Job Duties

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit

The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care.New Graduate RNs welcome.
