Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit. This full-time role (36 hours weekly) operates days from 7am–7pm, with holiday coverage as required. A sign-on bonus of up to $25K is available for experienced external applicants.

The RN will provide direct care from admission to discharge, collaborating with the on-shift team to meet patient, family and coworker needs in a 29-bed unit with varied cases. New graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license required.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge.
• Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet needs of patients, families and co-workers.
• Care for a variety of patients in the Observation Unit including chest pain, arrhythmias and post-procedure care.

Education

Indiana RN license (Current Indiana or compact state RN license)

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs welcome.
