Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd’s Emergency Department Observation Unit in New Albany, IN is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse for weekend-only night shifts (7pm–7am). Work is 24 hours weekly with premium pay for WOW shifts and qualification-based sign-on eligibility for experienced external applicants.

The unit is a 29-bed area observing patients under 24 hours, where you will deliver direct nursing care from admission to discharge and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Active Indiana license or compact state RN license.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• ACLS for Healthcare providers required (to be obtained within 12 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with on-shift team to meet patient, family, and coworker needs.

Job Duties

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit

The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care.New Graduate RNs welcome.
