Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure active in the practicing state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and continuously evaluates outcomes.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and fosters team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA ethics and ethical decision-making in patient care.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and support personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units as needed within the service area.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care and adapts to developmental needs.
