Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit. This full-time day position covers 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm), with a 36-hour work week and weekend rotation every 4th weekend.

The unit observes patients under 24 hours and supports chest pain, arrhythmias, and related procedures. Qualifications include Indiana or compact RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS within 12 months.

• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care from admission to discharge.
• Function as an on-shift team member to meet patient, family and coworker needs.
• Care for ED Observation Unit patients including chest pain and arrhythmias.
• Collaborate with the unit and ED staff to ensure high-level care.

The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. **About the Unit:**The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care.
