Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit. This full-time role covers 36 hours per week, days only (7am–7pm) with rotating every 4th weekend and holiday coverage as required.

The RN will provide direct patient care from admission to discharge in a fast-paced, 29-bed unit that handles chest pain, arrhythmias, catheterizations and other short-stay cases. New grads welcome; Indiana RN license required.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider required within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge.
• Provide on-shift nursing care as part of the ED Observation Unit team.
• Administer medications and monitor patient status while coordinating with healthcare staff.

Job Duties:

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit:

The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care.New Graduate RNs welcome.

Qualifications:

Current Indiana or compact state RN license required.

BLS for healthcare provider required.

ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
