Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license in state of practice.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
• Documents according to standards of care.
• Develops and initiates a patient plan of care according to individual needs and physician/clinic policy including patient and family education.
• Utilizes resources to educate patient and family; providesEducation to appropriate level of understanding.
• Identifies and resolves systems breakdowns and participates in problem-solving activities.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities and supports shared governance.
• Contributes clinical expertise to other units in support of longitudinal care.
