Job summary

Medical City Denton, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an OB Trauma RN to join our nursing team on days with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered obstetric trauma care in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety.

The role requires active Labor and Delivery experience, a Texas RN license or compact license, BLS/ACLS, and advanced fetal monitoring competencies.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing is required.
  • Texas RN license or compact license is required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required by reputable bodies.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required, advanced monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, report changes.
  • Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document care in the patient record in a timely, thorough manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including IV therapy and site verification.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Trauma Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In partnership with medical providers, the RN recognizes and reacts to emergent situations and assists in surgical site verification. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.

What qualifications you will need:

  • 2+ years Labor and Delivery Experience
  • Associates Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
  • Texas State RN license or compact license required.
  • BLS and ACLS required by AHA or ARC and NRP certifications required
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required
  • Advanced Fetal monitoring course every 2 years; specialty certification preferred.
