Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery to provide high-quality care from admission through postpartum and newborn care in the first hours after birth.

The role requires current TX RN license (or multi-state), BLS, ACLS, NRP within specified timelines, and completion of AWHONN fetal monitoring coursework or equivalent. C-EFM is a plus; on-call and competency checks are expected.

Qualifications

  • Current TX RN license or multi-state compact license.
  • BLS provider certification.
  • ACLS and NRP within 3 months of hire.
  • NRP within 3 months of hire; ACLS within 1 year.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring course within 1 year (or documentation of completion).
  • C-EFM preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to care for women of childbearing age and infants up to four hours old.
  • Supports family centered maternity care.
  • Participates in on-call schedule with flexible hours.
  • Annual competency check offs.
  • Minimum 1 year of current L&D experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent, safe, high-quality care for laboring patients from admission to post delivery.
  • Familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring and anesthesia support during labor.
  • Provide care for patients in the PACU period and newborn care during the first two hours of life.
  • Support family centered maternity care and involve patients' families in care decisions.
  • Participate in on-call schedule with scheduling flexibility.

Job description

Job Summary And Qualifications

Is accountable for consistent, safe, high quality care of all laboring patients assigned from admission to post delivery. Is familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring and provide care for patients who receive various types of anesthesia. Will demonstrate expertise in providing care for patient during PACU period as well as newborn care first two hours of life. What qualifications you will need:



  • Current TX RN License or RN multi-state compact license.

  • Current American Heart Association BLS provider

  • ACLS and NRP required within 3 months of hire

  • Interns must complete NRP within 3 months of hire and ACLS within one year of hire.

  • Must successfully complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or the AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course

  • C-EFM preferred

  • Demonstrates ability to care for women of childbearing age and infants up to four (4) hours old.

  • Must support family centered maternity care.

  • Participates in on-call schedule and have flexibility in scheduling due to erratic census.

  • Participates in annual competency check offs


Must have at least 1 year of current L&D experience in a Hospital setting
