Job summary

Laredo Medical Center in Texas seeks an RN to provide patient-centered care through the nursing process, coordinating with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The role emphasizes safe medication administration, patient education, and adherence to clinical protocols. You'll work with a multidisciplinary team to support patients and families across the care continuum.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
  • RN license/permit required, Basic Life Support (BCLS) mandatory.
  • ACLS/PALS certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and nursing process.
  • Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes to the care team.
  • Uses knowledge of human growth and development to provide age-appropriate care and education.
  • Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
  • Assists physicians during procedures within nursing competency and scope of practice.
  • Develops and evaluates individualized care plans with the care team.
  • Responds to emergencies, participates in CPR and code team activities as needed.
  • Educates patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintains infection control practices and ensures patient safety in the care environment.
  • Documents care and education thoroughly in the medical record and participates in audits.
