Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care and to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
  • Serves as a resource person when the situation requires
  • Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care
  • Provides supervisory support to unit staff in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
  • Follows guidelines and procedures effectively
  • Administers treatments, medications, interprets diagnostic tests, provides education to patients and families, and collaborates with other professionals
  • Knowledgeable in AWHONN standards
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing
BSN preferred
National Certification in Obstetrics preferred

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards.Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care and to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.Serves as a resource person when the situation requires.Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care.Supports the organization's mission statement.Responsible for care of all patients across the lifespan.Proficient in oral and written communication skills.Able to practice nursing according to state regulations regarding the practice of Registered Nursing.Possesses cognitive and technical knowledge with the ability to manage care across the continuum.Must be flexible with work schedule and capable of independent actions within prescribed limits.Utilizes the nursing process in the provision of patient care.Administers treatments, medications, interprets diagnostic tests, provides education to patients and families, and collaborates with other professionals.Knowledgeable in AWHONN standards.Familiar with medical terminology.Ability to work in a patient care setting.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.Capable of documenting actions involved in care delivery.Follows guidelines and procedures effectively.Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups.Possesses theoretical knowledge of nursing processes, care management, and continuity of care.Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and interpret graphs.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Provides supervisory support to unit staff in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.All candidates are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations.
