Job summary

J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry, SC seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing Registered Nurse to support the Director of Nursing and supervise nursing staff. The role emphasizes coordination among units, meetings, budgeting, and ensuring quality resident care.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN or higher, an active RN license, and extensive nursing leadership experience in long-term care to drive improvements and compliance.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
Valid RN license in the state employed preferred.
Seven years’ nursing experience with two years supervisory in long-term care.

Responsibilities

Act as liaison between nursing units, admissions, and DON.
Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues.
Monitor weekly and monthly weights; audit charts and assessments weekly.
Evaluate nursing staff performance and training needs with DON guidance.
Assist in preparation of departmental budget and ensure staffing adequacy.
Oversee rounds, medication handling, and meal/temperature accuracy.
