Job summary

Envision Unlimited in Chicago is seeking an RN Nurse Trainer to evaluate and address the medical, health, and safety needs of clients in host family residences. The role also involves training and authorizing non-licensed staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a current license from the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse.
• CPR Certification.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with 1 year working with the developmental disabilities population.
• Be able to obtain a DHS Nurse Trainer Certificate within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Document client-specific medical needs and interventions to provide client progress notes.
• Monitor all aspects and review client medication regimes, including medication records, orders, bubble packs, and MARs.
• Conduct caregiver and staff medication training as well as skills observation on an ongoing basis.
• Respond to all telephone calls, emails, and messages 24/7 and provide appropriate nursing/medical directions as needed.
