Job summary

Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center in downtown Los Angeles seeks a Nurse Shift Manager to oversee a frontline nursing team and advocate for colleagues to meet department goals.

The role requires accountability, strong communication, and ability to manage difficult conversations related to team performance and patient care. You will lead staffing, patient care education, and shift readiness.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Science Nursing required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse license in CA upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire.
• Fire Safety training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, considering patient's condition and staff skill level.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
• Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Pay Range

$60.65 - $92.23 /hour
