Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health, is launching a 12-month Nurse Residency for recent grads in Bradenton, FL. You’ll work 40h/week in 3x12 shifts within a supportive hospice team, guided by a clinical coach, toward certification as a Hospice Nurse.

Qualifications

• Recent grads welcome; RN with ≤1 year experience for residency.
• ASN or BSN from an accredited program.
• Current Florida RN license (or multi-state compact).
• CPR certification from ARC or AHA.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio.
• Attend weekly education to become Certified Hospice Nurse.
• Schedule: 40 hours/week, 3x12-hour shifts.
• Six months of practical hospice experience with a coach.
• Rotations with Home, ALF, and Admissions teams.
• No prior medical/surgical experience required.
• Includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Tidewell Hospice , a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Recent Grad RN to join our 12-month Nurse Residency program! Do you feel called to a rewarding career as a Hospice Nurse?

What you’ll Do

• We offer a 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio!
• Weekly classroom education pertaining to the care of hospice patients & families will prepare the Nurse Resident to become a Certified Hospice Nurse after completion of the program. Exam fees are covered by Empath Health.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week. Typically, 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week.
• Six months of practical experience facilitated by a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor in a hospice house setting.
• Scheduled rotations with other hospice teams as well as theHome, ALF, and Admissions service lines.
• No Medical/surgical experience necessary
• The Nurse Resident joins his or her new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed.

What You’ll Need

• Recent grads welcome to apply! Must have less than 1 year of RN experience for the residency program.
• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program required.
• Current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license required.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Prefers clinical experience with hospice or ALF patients.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and have means of transportation.
• Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
