Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, part of Empath Health, seeks an experienced RN to guide newly licensed nurses from academia to clinical practice in end-of-life care. You’ll lead the nurse residency curriculum, mentor residents, and coordinate CMS/AHCA/CHAP/ANCC-PTAP-aligned training.

Expect a hands-on role in clinical education, residency evaluation, and fostering competencies and wellbeing for nurses across Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved nursing program with current, unrestricted FL RN licensure; BSN required, MSN preferred.
• 3–5 years of clinical education experience; 2 years hospice experience.
• Experience as Certified Preceptor or will obtain within 6 months of hire.
• CHPN certification, or obtained within two years of hire.
• EMR documentation experience; Pyxis administration system familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the hospice mission and adheres to policies and professional standards.
• Leads development and delivery of a nurse residency curriculum meeting CMS/AHCA/CHAP/ANCC-PTAP requirements.
• Mentors Nurse Residents, coaches, and provides feedback to support growth.
• Tracks resident competencies, satisfaction, and wellbeing; reports findings to program director.
• Leads clinical facilitation within a designated location to improve retention and quality of care.
