Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of the Emergency Department manages the operations and activities of the ED Department, assisting the Director of ED with overall management to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals. Responsible for staff performance, departmental responsibilities, high‑quality patient care and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (including ongoing eligibility).
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, or to be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, or to be obtained within 30 days.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, or to be obtained within 30 days.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, to be obtained within 90 days.
• Current Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification, to be obtained within 60 months.
• Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification, to be obtained within 90 days.Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification, to be obtained within 6 months.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical ER nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a full‑time Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management.
