Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Kentucky is seeking a Nurse Extern (PRN) to support direct patient care under RN supervision. You will document care, monitor patient status, and communicate with the care team to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an approved nursing program and be a third year student or higher and graduate within 13 months of hire.
• Candidates must be in good standing with the approved nursing program and clinically competent to perform acts.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BCLS) Required

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under the direction, delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to supervising RN.
• Maintains positive professional relationship with patient/ families, coworkers, and health care team.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs; evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

How you'll contribute
