Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiology Clinic on a part-time basis, 7:30am to 4:30pm. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care, medication administration, and patient education in a cardiology setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an active Kentucky RN license, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and possess an associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred).

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license required.
• BLS certification within one month of hire.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• PALS within 6 months of hire.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care including transfers and discharges.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age and culture.
• Advocates for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations for testing and procedures.

How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an Active Kentucky RN License Required (single state or compact). If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
• Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
