Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, KY, is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Orthopedic Clinic. This full-time day shift from 7:30am to 4:30pm provides hands-on patient care under RN/physician supervision, with a focus on assessment, wound and medication administration, and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky LPN license required to practice in Kentucky.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• BLS certification within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of an RN or Physician, collects data for assessment.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Assists in development of the plan of care.
• Supports activities of daily living and mobility.
• Monitors and communicates patient status to the care team.
• Schedules appointments and procedures per provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as needed.

How You'll Contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

• Under the direction of an RN or Physician, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN or Physician.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN or Physician with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a Active Kentucky LPN License Required (single state or compact). If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Additional Requirements Include

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire
• Education: Associate's degree preferred
