Job summary

Genesis Healthcare in New Mexico seeks an RN Staff Development Coordinator to orient and educate nursing staff, ensuring safe, effective care in line with federal, state, and facility guidelines.

The role reports to the Director of Nursing, develops education programs, supervises orientation, conducts competency testing, and coordinates Employee Health activities with emphasis on gerontology and adult learning.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center.
• Ensure safe, effective care per federal, state, and facility guidelines.
• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nurses during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance.
