Genesis Healthcare in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff, ensuring safe, evidence-based care in accordance with guidelines. You will lead staff orientation, develop education programs, and assess competency, reporting to the Director of Nursing.

The role requires an RN from an accredited school, with 3+ years clinical experience (LT care preferred) and training in adult learning. Gerontology experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center.
• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including TB/hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations.
