Job summary

Franklin Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount, VA is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to lead our state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program. This RN role focuses on classroom instruction, skills labs, and supervised clinical experiences to prepare compassionate, competent caregivers.

You will develop lesson plans, mentor students, ensure competency before clinicals, and maintain compliance with OBRA and Virginia Board of Nursing requirements while collaborating with center

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Virginia.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, with at least one year in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved Train-the-Trainer course or willingness to complete prior to start.
• Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Passion for education, mentoring, and clinical excellence.
• Familiarity with OBRA requirements and nurse aide training standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical instruction using the Virginia Board of Nursing-approved nurse aide curriculum.
• Educate, mentor, supervise, and evaluate nurse aide students throughout the program.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, attendance records, student evaluations, skills documentation, and other required program records.
• Create an engaging, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure students demonstrate competency before performing skills in the clinical setting.
• Maintain compliance with Virginia Board of Nursing requirements and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with center leadership and nursing teams to connect classroom learning with high-quality, person-centered care.
• Serve as a professional role model and help students successfully transition into healthcare careers.
