Job summary

ChildServe is seeking a Float Pool RN in Iowa to support Inpatient Complex Medical units, Rehabilitation, and Medical Group Home. You’ll provide skilled pediatric nursing care across diverse settings, champions of care coordination, and collaboration with the care team.

You’ll work 3 shifts per week, 6pm-6am, with every 4th weekend, and receive comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, retirement match, and generous PTO, including 16 hours front-loaded.

Qualifications

• Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• One year of RN experience or one year at ChildServe in place of RN experience.
• Active BLS from AHA or ARC.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and move within clinic areas.
• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of nursing care based on the nursing process.
• Maintain accurate, timely records per nursing standards and ChildServe policies.
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, physicians, and staff to ensure care needs are met.
• Provide training to patients, families, and staff to advance care skills.
• Demonstrate stewardship of equipment, supplies, and the environment.

Our Float Pool nursing position offers the unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple areas of care at ChildServe. Nurses in this role provide support where it’s needed most floating between our Inpatient Complex Medical units, Rehabilitation unit, and Medical Group Home. This position is ideal for a flexible, skilled nurse who enjoys variety, collaboration, and caring for children , adolescents and young adults with complex medical needs.

Schedule /Benefits

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
• Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
• Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.

What You’ll Need

• Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• One year of experience as a RN or one year of experience working at ChildServe in place of RN experience.
• Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language.
