Job summary

Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced Ambulatory RN to mentor newer nurses while delivering professional care across ambulatory settings.

The position is part-time at Lutheran Hospital with a pay rate of $39 per hour. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in an ambulatory RN role; BSN is preferred. Externally, BLS and ACLS are expected upon rehire where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS upon rehire for areas with moderate sedation/cardiac testing.

Responsibilities

• Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment.
• May perform telephone triage.
• Notify physician of abnormal findings.
• Establish a care plan with patient, family, and health care team.
• May assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered; monitors response.
• Provides health education to patients and families; documents learning needs.
• Participate in quality initiatives and patient safety improvement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

About This Role

This position is ideal for an experienced Ambulatory RN looking to transfer knowledge to newer nurses while providing professional nursing care to patients in various ambulatory care settings.

What You’ll Do

• Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment.


• May perform telephone triage.


• Notifies physician/LIP of abnormal findings.


• Establishes a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.


• May assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.


• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitors patients for response.


• Provides health education to patients and families; develops, evaluates, adapts, and documents education to learning needs.


• May participate in quality initiatives and process improvements activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and patient safety.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.


• BSN preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a RN Ambulatory position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement.


• Current demonstrated clinical competence.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).


• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA), BLS advisor, or American Red Cross required upon rehire.


• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification required upon rehire for areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing.
