Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor for the Medical Progressive Care Unit. The role ensures safe, high-quality patient care, coordinates staff, and collaborates with the Staffing Office to optimize bed and patient flow.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hospital nursing experience, an active RN license, and a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Responsibilities include staff mentorship, budget collaboration, and unit operations oversight.

Qualifications

• RN licensure must be maintained in the hiring state and meet state board requirements.
• 3–5 years of hospital nursing experience.
• Management/leadership experience preferred.
• Nursing certifications may be required depending on unit

Responsibilities

• Coordinate placement of patients and staff assignments.
• Assist clinical staff with patient care and unit activities.
• Facilitate staff nurse attendance at meetings and education sessions.
• Interface with physicians, families, and department staff as needed.
• Participate in unit quality improvement activities and training.
• Supervise clinical activities and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with the manager on budget and resource utilization.
