Job summary

Carilion Clinic's ED Observation Unit in Roanoke is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Evening/Night shift. You will assess and manage care for a 15-bed unit, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient patient care and education.

Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating age-specific care plans, documenting in EPIC, and contributing to performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing or eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
• Currently licensed as Virginia RN or eligible for Virginia RN licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; may need ACLS/PALS/NRP depending on unit.
• Computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimum outcomes for patients of all ages.
• Age-specific admission and ongoing assessments to develop a care plan.
• Collaborate with health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Administer and document treatments and medications using EMR systems.
• Identify and address patient/family education needs and integrate into care plans.
• Contribute to performance improvement activities and patient advocacy.
