Job summary

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital's ED Observation Unit is a 15-bed unit caring for med/surg and PCU patients. RNs oversee admission planning, monitoring, and evaluation for up to 48 hours, coordinating care and ensuring patient safety and education as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure, BLS-HCP, and EPIC EMR proficiency, with compensation range noted and a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
• Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; may be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP depending on unit.
• Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and assessments, planning and evaluation for patients across age groups.
• Collaborate with the health care team to develop and implement interdisciplinary care plans.
• Support patient advocacy, safety, and education while ensuring high-quality service.
