Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks an ED Psych Assessment Specialist for night shifts to support the emergency department. You will perform initial assessments, crisis intervention, and psychosocial evaluations for adolescents through advanced adults, coordinating care with psychiatrists and the medical team.

Responsibilities include documenting findings in the EMR, coordinating referrals, and advocating for patients.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field required.
• 1–3 years of related experience required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and treatments in the ED.
• Coordinate treatment/referral plans with psychiatrists and physicians.
• Document intake in the EMR and related systems.
• Serve as a patient advocate and liaison between ED team and external resources.
• Maintain knowledge of civil commitment processes and crisis services.
